Here's a map of Lopez Island, with Humphrey Head circled.
Here's the northern section of Lopez Island, with a few landmarks noted.
→ Frost Island (the island to the east/right of Spencer Spit)
→ Swift Bay
→ Humphrey Head
→ Shoal Bay
and comes in at the tip of Upright Head.
Here's Humphrey Head. This map came from the county assessor's website and it outlines the parcels. I've circled ours down on Lower Humphrey Head. You can see that there's a marina on the west side of Humphrey Head in Shoal Bay.
Here I've zoomed in on the same county assessor's map. That narrow, winding parcel alongside ours is owned by the community association and is a walking path for Humphrey Head residents as well as an emergency exit path (although not a drivable road).
This is a cool map that Bill put together. Our parcel and the community parcel are outlined. The topographical lines show an increase in height of 10-feet for each line. Counting the lines, there's an increase in elevation of more than 100 feet from the lowest point of our ~¾ acre parcel (bottom left corner) to the highest point (top right corner).
The walking path takes you up fairly high on the bluff above Spencer's Landing (aka Shoal Bay Marina). The increase in elevation is over 200 feet and there are some great views — west across Shoal Bay to Upright Head and southeast across the isthmus with Shoal Bay in the foreground, the isthmus and Swift Bay in the background.
